New (and like new) Restaurants at Punta Cana
Club Med Punta Cana will close in September 2007 for a total makeover of the main pool, bar area and the restaurants. The two main restaurants, Samana and Hispaniola will undergo full renovations and a new restaurant, La Cana will offer intimate evening dining and table service next to the beach.
Samana will close for complete renovation through November 2007. Here is the projected plan for Samana, with before shots and after renderings. Click on any of the images to enlarge them.
This image shows the extent to which designers will enlarge Samana, adding space, intimacy and great outdoor seating next to the Caribbean.

OH NO!!! There was absolutely nothing wrong with the Samana. The atmosphere created by the open air thatched roof restaurant right on the water was unlike anything in this world and gave Club Med Punta Cana an amazing feeling of culture and uniqueness. From what I can see of the "projected" images you are totally taking it in another direction.
